The organising committee now invites submissions of abstracts based on original research and workshop proposals. Before finalising and uploading your submission in the conference platform (Oxford Abstracts), please read the following guidelines.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – GENERAL GUIDELINES 

Authors are invited to submit an abstract proposal by October 4, 2024. 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION PROCESS

All abstract submissions will be managed using the Oxford Abstracts conference platform. Please prepare an abstract of max 500 words (no tables, no figures), with the following headings: 

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

This abstract can be copied into the submission form by the author(s) onto the Oxford Abstracts platform. In the submission form, authors will be asked to add information related to their submission, including all author(s) details, selection of the presenting and corresponding author, author approval, whether the author is a Young Water Professional, the preferred format of their presentation, and the selected special session or track that best relates to the submission. 

PRESENTATION FORMAT 

We ask authors to choose between two presentation formats: 

  • oral presentation 
  • poster presentation 

You can to indicate your preferred format on the submission form. The organisers will make every effort to accommodate your preferred format on the programme. However, please note that final confirmation of the format of your presentation is subject to capacity and review score, as well as our ambition to create a well-designed, coherent and diverse program. This means you could be asked to present in a different format. 

MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS 

If you wish to submit several abstracts, each submission will need to be completed separately. 

PRESENTING AUTHOR 

Please note that authors are expected to present no more than one submission at the conference, although an author may make more than one submission as co-author. 

ABSTRACT REVIEW 

Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee to evaluate if they are within the scope of Watermicro25, if the objective is clearly stated, the research is novel, well-designed, sound, complete and clear. We will notify authors of acceptance and presentation format by January 31, 2025Please kindly note that the decisions of the Scientific Programme Committee are final. 

Authors will be asked to confirm their attendance and presentation. Unconfirmed presentations will be removed from the programme.

AUTHORS THAT NEED TO APPLY FOR A VISA

For authors that need to apply for a visa to visit the Netherlands (see visa information here) a special early review will be possible. Please indicate on the submission form that you need to apply for a visa. These authors will be notified of acceptance for presentation at Watermicro2025 by October 18, 2024. The acceptance will only indicate that you are accepted to present, not if the presentation format is oral or poster. This will follow once all abstracts are reviewed and a balanced program has been made, by January 31, 2025. Early registration opens on November 1, 2024.

When submitting your abstract, you will be prompted to select or add information that relates to your submission. You can amend your submission at any stage before the October 4, 2024 deadline. Please ensure you complete each step in order for your submission to be completed. You will be notified if the abstract is incomplete. Incomplete submissions will not be considered for review and the conference programme.
