To ensure clear and effective communication, all presenters must follow these requirements:
1. Presentation Duration & Scheduling
- Presentation Formats
- Panel presentations (5 minutes): These talks immediately follow the keynote presentation and precede a panel discussion. Presenters will join the keynote speaker on the panel.
- Oral presentation (9 minutes + 2 minutes Q&A): Please adhere strictly to the 9-minute speaking time, followed by a 2-minute audience Q&A.
- Poster pitches (3 minutes): Provide a concise and engaging explanation of your work, delivered within 3 minutes.
- Time Signals: Please do stick to the allocated time. You will see a countdown timer to help you keep on time, and the session chair will step in if your presentation starts to approach the dedicated end-time.
- Arrival time: Please arrive at your session room 30 minutes early to attend a short briefing, make yourself familiar with the set up and system, test your slides, and meet the session chair and fellow speakers.
2. Slide Format & Submission
- Preferred Formats: PowerPoint 2016 (PPTX) for best compatibility in 16:9 format. Any videos or web content in the presentation should be embedded in the powerpoint presentation file. Check compatibility issues before you submit.
- Submission deadline: Submit your final presentation at least 48 hours before your scheduled presentation time at the conference to presentations@watermicro25.nl
- Check presentation at the venue: There will be a speaker ready room at the venue, where you are ask to come the day before the presentation to confirm and check your presentation.
- Backup: Bring a USB drive with your presentation in case of last-minute updates or technical issues.
3. Technical Requirements
- System Compatibility: Ensure your presentation displays correctly on Windows-based systems (e.g., check fonts, videos, and layout).
- Multimedia: If your slides include audio or video, embed this in the powerpoint file and confirm compatibility before submission.
4. Recording
We are planning to make videos of each of the presentations. These video recordings will be made available to the Watermicro2025 attendees, and we are thinking of using them also to share with international colleagues that were not able to travel to Watermicro2025, in webinars or similar. Please prepare your presentation with this in mind. The recording will be mostly the powerpoint screen and the audio. If you have objections to being recorded, let us know before the conference.
